Today, I’d like to share with you this very simple trick to sound OUTSIDE in a Rock-Fusion context, using the position of the pentatonic scale that we all know.
I think of this lick as a pentatonic of Em, embellished with a few chromaticisms.
Play your favorite pentatonic position; play the same position a semitone higher (or lower) and return to the original position (like a tension / resolution) …
